Terms & Conditions

 

Insurance:

  • All vehicles are comprehensively insured as per UAE laws.
  • A police report is required in case of an accident or damage to avail insurance coverage.
  • The driver is responsible for the Excess Insurance Charge unless they purchase the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
  • Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available for coverage against disability or death.
  • Insurance coverage does not apply if the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs or outside UAE territory.
  • Super Collision and Damage Waiver (SCDW – Optional Insurance for Online Reservations): This insurance covers the damages & theft to your rented car and reduces an excess to certain amount or up to “0” Provided you collect a Police Report

ATTENTION!

  • In case of damages to the tires the driver is liable to the full amount of repairs
  • In case of damages to the windshield the driver is liable to the full amount of repairs in the absence of police report.
  • Please note Police report is mandatory to cover CDW & SCDW insurances else excess charges apply, Incase client is at fault or in the absence of third party a charge of AED 520/- applies to obtain a Police report which will be borne by the client.

Delivery and Collection:

  • A charge of Dhs 50 + 5% VAT applies for delivery or collection within Dubai City limits
  • A charge of Dhs 350 + 5% VAT applies for other Emirates.

One Way fee:

  • One Way Rental Fee to Abu Dhabi AED 350 + 5% VAT
  • Driving to Oman is not allowed.

Driving License:

  • Drivers must be over 21 years old & Maximum 75 years old for selected vehicle groups.
  • Drivers must be over 25 years & Maximum 75 years old for luxury vehicles.
  • Young driver surcharge applicable @ extra cost
  • Driver should hold Valid Physical Passport, digital copies are not accepted.
  • Driver should hold Physical Valid license held for at least one year.
  • Digital Driving Licence is not accepted, A physical Driving Licence will be required for verification.
  • Tourist/Visitors require a domestic license accompanied by an international driving permit.
  • A valid Physical UAE Driving License is mandatory for all hirers who have a UAE residence visa.
  • Change in Visa Status: If a visitor/tourist visa holder changes their status to a resident visa during the term of the hire, they must obtain a UAE driving license to continue driving the vehicle in the UAE. The hirer must immediately notify Europcar about the change in visa status and provide copies of the new visa and UAE driving license to continue the rental.
  • Failure to comply with these requirements will be treated as a breach of contract. In such cases, the hirer will be liable to pay all claims, losses, and expenses incurred due to the breach.

Additional Drivers:

  • Additional drivers must meet the same qualifications as the primary driver.
  • Additional drivers are permitted with proper qualifications at Dhs 25 + 5% VAT per day or maximum Dhs 250 + 5% VAT per month.
  • Digital Driving Licence is not accepted, Additional drivers physical Driving Licence will be required for verification.
  • Names of additional drivers must be registered on the rental agreement by a Europcar representative.
  • No additional driver is authorized to drive the vehicle without Europcar’s knowledge.
  • Insurance coverage does not apply when the vehicle is driven by unauthorized drivers.

Terms of Payment:

Accepted Payment Methods:

  • Credit Cards: American Express, Diners Club, Master Card & Visa.
  • Debit Cards: Not recommended. However, as an exception, Europcar may accept debit cards with an additional security deposit of estimated rental charges plus AED 2500/-(Please note the amount is charged & not preauthorized)
  • Validity of Credit/Debit card should be minimum 3 months old 
  • Digital Payment , Contactless payments (Near Field Communication (NFC)is not accepted), Payment by physical credit card is mandatory.
  • Cash rental deposit is not accepted.
  • Please Note: We do not accept, Corporate, rechargeable or virtual credit cards
  • A credit card is mandatory for clients, even if they present a “Europcar Full Credit Voucher” to cover any traffic fines billed by authorities to the car rental company, not to the driver.
  • The Full Credit Voucher issued by the Business Account does not cover payment of any traffic fines, Exceptional Cases: If there is a written notification sent by email to reservations@europcar.ae from the respective Europcar country in charge of the Business House or Travel Agency accepting to cover these charges, such situations will be handled as exceptional cases.
  • We do not accept Apple Pay.

Rental Deposit:

  • Upon arrival at the rental location, Europcar will require a refundable deposit of AED 1,500/- (Approx. € 375 or $ 410), which will be preauthorized to your Credit card
  • Debit Cards: Not recommended. However, as an exception a Charge & Not preauthorization of AED 2,500/- (Approx. € 630 or $ 680) to your Debit card
  • This deposit serves as security against potential damages not covered by your insurance or any additional extra’s such as traffic fines, tolls, refuelling cost, purchase of additional ancillaries etc.
  • Please note that it may take 1-6 weeks to receive notifications of traffic offenses from the authorities.
  • The deposit amount will be refunded to your credit / debit card within 30 days after the rental period ends, minus any applicable traffic fines, toll fees (Salik), or damages, etc.
  • If the customer is present at any of our branch and willing to pay, alternative payment methods may be arranged, please contact our rental desk or email billing@europcar.ae
  • If there are insufficient funds available on the customer’s credit card to cover the extra charges, Europcar Dubai will fully utilize the Rental Deposit amount. Any remaining balance after deducting the extra charges will be refunded to the same credit /debit card used during the rental within 30 days from the date of vehicle return.
  • It’s important to note that any currency fluctuations charges incurred by the customer’s bank for the refund will be the responsibility of the customer.
  • If the customer prefers the refund to be processed on another debit/credit card, they must inform Europcar Dubai in writing within 30 days from the date of returning the car. The notification should be sent to billing@europcar.ae mentioning the Rental Agreement number in the subject line of the email.

Release of Security Deposit:

  • The deposit amount held on the credit card is a temporary hold which is preauthorized.
  • The hold will be cancelled from the account within 30 days from the day of blocking.
  • The amount will not be physically debited, but the account balance will increase once the hold is released.
  • If there are any issues after 30 working days, customers should contact their bank to confirm the status of the authorization.
  • Europcar can be contacted via email at billing@europcar.ae if the blocked amount is not released after checking with the bank.
  • Upon receiving the notification, Europcar Dubai will send a request to the bank to check the status of the blocked amount, and the status will be updated within 5 working days.

Accidents:

  • In the event of an accident or damage, theft including missing parts, the vehicle should not be removed from the scene.
  • The police should be informed immediately, and a police report must be obtained.

  • The hirer must hand over the police report to Europcar when returning the vehicle or when requesting a replacement.
  • Until a police report is submitted, the hirer is liable for all damages and no replacement vehicle will be provided.

Dubai Airport Parking Fee Charges:

  • A parking fee of AED 50 + 5% VAT applies for vehicles returned at Dubai Airports.
  • Additional fees may be incurred if the parking ticket and car key are not handed over promptly.
  • A charge of AED 400 + 5% VAT will be applied if the parking ticket is not submitted with the key.

Fuel:

  • When you pick up the rental vehicle, it will have a full tank of fuel.
  • During the rental period, customer is responsible for refuelling the vehicle as needed. Any fuel consumed during your usage is your responsibility.
  • When returning the vehicle, customer must ensure that the fuel tank is full. This means filling it up to the same level it was at when you received the vehicle.
  • If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank of fuel, customer will require to pay for the missing fuel at a rate offered by Europcar.

Off-Road Driving:

 

  • Off-road driving is not permitted, Driving off-road can pose risks to both the vehicle and occupants and will violate rental agreements & insurance policies.
  • Smoking inside the rental vehicle is prohibited.
  • In case of damages the driver is liable to the full amount of repairs.

Payment at the rental location:

  • Modifications to your booking are free of charge up 48 hours before the pick-up time (though new rental prices may apply)
  • Cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before the time of pick-up and helps us allocate the vehicle to another customer. You may cancel by using the same booking channel as the one used for your reservation or by contacting our local Call Center.
  • If you fail to collect the vehicle in due time and have not cancelled the reservation, a fee of AED 500/- (depending on local currency) or the whole price of rental if value is lower, will be charged.
  • For business rentals (where you have a business rental contract with Europcar), If you failed to collect the vehicle in due time, a fee of AED 500/-  95 EUR/ GBP 102/ AUD 176/ NZD 184/ 700 DKK/ $100 USD (depending on local currency) or the whole price of rental if value is lower, will be charged.

Online pre-payment:

  • Modifications to your booking are free of charge up to 48 hours before the pick-up time (though new rental prices may apply).
  • Cancellation is free of charge up to 48h before the start of the rental day.
  • If you cancel your reservation less than 48 hours before the due pick up date and time, a fee of AED 500/ EUR 50/ GBP 45/ AUD 88/ NZD 92/ 370 DKK (depending on local currency), or the whole price of rental if value is lower, will be charged.
  • If you fail to collect the vehicle in due time, and have not cancelled, a fee of  AEC 500/ 95 EUR/ GBP 102/ AUD 176/ NZD 184/ 700 DKK (depending on local currency), or the whole price of rental if value is lower, will be charged.
  • If you return the vehicle to us before the end of the agreed rental period then you will not be entitled to a refund for any unused days.

Tax: 

5% Vat will be applicable.   

General:

  • Vehicles are not permitted to be driven out of the UAE.
  • The reserved vehicle will be released after 2 hours from the checkout time of the reservation.
  • All new or enhancement in existing statutory levies, road permits, entry road permit levied by the UAE Government or any other competent authority after the date of this offer, which have an implication to the above services service, will be billed on actual basis to the driver. 
  • Customers cannot combine two offers together, Discount coupons, Company & partnership negotiated contracted rates & Free Upgrades in the same booking.
  • Rentals on promotion /corporate-partnership negotiated rates / Accor discounted rates are not counted towards Europcar Privilege VIP benefits
  • Europcar Privilege VIP benefits apply soley on Public Rates & applicable discount as per tier level.
  • Discount coupons are valid on Public Rates.
  • Free upgrades are subject to fleet availability and are not guaranteed. The free upgrade offer can be used up to standard size cars only & not on high end vehicles, SUVs & Vans nor in conjunction with any Privilege Free Weekends, Discounts, Company – partnerships negotiated contracted rates. The maximum rental duration when using a free upgrade is 14 days.
  • Elite VIP customers, A double upgrade solely depends on availability of cars applicable on public rates.
  • No Double Dipping at Europcar : Member can earn points with one frequent traveller programme & a single offer at a time only !
